Backend Engineer - Remote - Long-term Contract

The opportunity has arisen for a highly skilled Backend Engineer to work for a global-Industry company.

What you will do:

• Design and development of the companies Big Data (BD) and Machine Learning (ML) platform.
• Evaluate, select, and build the best technology to be offered as-a-service in the Unicron platform.
• Support the team with high-level tech decisions, share knowledge and raise blockers and needs from the rest of the organization.
• Develop and implement systems using the best development practices and tools.
• Build highly reliable, secure, and scalable solutions for data science and machine learning, on top of a wide spectrum of technologies, eg, AWS, Kubernentes, Docker, Kubeflow, Airflow, Python, Go, GitHub, Grafana, Prometheus, CI/CD tools...
• Monitor and automate the operations and production of large-scale distributed systems.

Requirements/Skills

• You have a deep understanding of systems design, algorithms, and data structures.
• Proven ability and experience developing software with Golang, Python or similar.
• Preference for re-use, collaboration, and contribution before building from scratch (InnerSource principles).
• Experience with AWS and/or other cloud providers.
• Experience with infrastructure and containers platforms such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Comfortable working in an iterative incremental framework (Agile methodology).
